About the research

Research objective: The objectives of the proposed research project are to make recommendations to improve the SUDAS and Iowa DOT standard specifications so they incorporate the results of recent research on seal coat, slurry seal, micro-surfacing, and fog sealing; to obtain input from stakeholders and assess the extent to which cold-in-place recycling and stabilization should be included in the SUDAS manuals; and to develop best management practices for selection and use of asphalt roadway rehabilitation techniques.
