Administrative

  1. Minutes of the previous meeting
    The minutes from the October and February meetings will be presented.
  2. Schedule of meetings
    A proposed schedule of regional meetings will be presented.
  3. Board of Directors actions
    A summary of the actions taken by the Board of Directors will be presented.
  4. Election of officers
    Per the corporation bylaws, each region is to elect a Chair and a Vice Chair every two years.

Design Manual Items

  1. Concrete updates (Design Section 5G-2 and Spec Section 7010)
    The concrete paving industry requested some revisions to the jointing design section and concrete spec section.

Specifications Manual Items

  1. Increase or decrease of work (Section 1040, 1.06, B)
    Revise language regarding the contractor’s ability to request a cost adjustment for unit price items.
  2. Tracer wire (Section 5010, 2.05, B, 1)
    Added high molecular weight polyethylene as a tracer wire insulation material for solid single copper conductor.
  3. Epoxy coating requirement (Section 6010, 2.03, B)
    Remove the epoxy coating requirement for bars in cast-in-place manholes.
  4. Minimum floor thickness (Figure 6010.301)
    Added column to existing table to show minimum floor thicknesses.
  5. Manhole lining system (Section 6020, 1.08, E, 2.04, and 3.04)
    Added bid item and product information for a multi-layer polyurea/polyurethane protective lining system for manhole rehabilitation.
  6. Partial depth patches (Section 7092, 3.04)
    Corrected size requirements for removing partial depth patches as part of a crack and seat asphalt rehabilitation projects.
  7. Granular shoulders (Section 7100)
    Developed new section on granular shoulders.
  8. Granular surfacing (Section 7200)
    Developed new section on granular surfacing.
  9. Traffic signal pole foundation (Figure 8010.102)
    Various requested revisions are proposed by Iowa DOT.
  10. Grooving for pavement markings (Section 8020, 3.02, J)
    Added requirements for dry cutting grooves and maximum limits for groove depth.

  1. Discussion items
    • Deficient work (Section 1040, 1.04, C) pay factor adjustments for private development projects.
