Administrative

  1. Meeting minutes
    The minutes of the previous meeting will be presented.
  2. Schedule of meetings
    A proposed schedule of regional meetings will be presented.
  3. Board of Directors meeting
    A summary of the actions taken with the November electronic vote will be presented.

Design Manual Items

  1. Determining structure diameter (Sections 2C-3, G and 3C-1, L, 10)
    Consider modifications based on National Precast Concrete Association.
  2. Thrust block and anchor block sizing (Section 4C-1, K)
    Modify thrust block sizing chart based on calculations.  Consider use of AWWA recommended factor of safety.  Add formula and table for anchor block sizing.

Specifications Manual Items

  1. Proof rolling (Section 1080, 1.06, B, 2)
    Modify language to add expiration and conditions to require proof rolling to be performed again.
  2. Concrete pipe supports (Section 3010, 1.08, F & G)
    Add bid items to pay for concrete pipe supports of new and existing utility lines.
  3. Pipe size for solid wall PVC pipe (Section 4010, 2.01, B)
    Modify language to increase allowable pipe size for sanitary sewers from 27 to 48 inch for solid wall PVC materials.  This complies with the cited ASTM F 679 and conforms to the existing design table for buried depths.
  4. Pipe size for closed profile PVC pipe (Section 4010, 2.01, D)
    Modify language to increase allowable pipe size for sanitary sewers from 36 to 60 inch for closed profile PVC materials.  This complies with the cited ASTM F 1803 and conforms to the existing design table for buried depths.
  5. Sewer video inspections (Section 4060, 3.02, A and D)
    Add language to better ensure quality of video inspections being performed and to allow rejection by the Engineer.
  6. Infiltration barriers on polypropylene adjustment rings (Section 6010, 2.09, A, 3. and 2.11, A, 4.)
    Remove language prohibiting the use of heat shrinkable infiltration barriers based on independent testing performed.
  7. Dowel bar retrofit (Figure 7040.106/PR-106)
    Iowa DOT Construction and Materials Bureau requested making our dowel bar retrofit detail a shared figure with some very minor modifications.

Other

  1. Discussion items
    • Modifications to allow the use of polypropylene storm sewer meeting ASTM F 2881 vs. the current requirement of ASTM F 2764.
    • Request to allow PVC structures as equivalent to structures SW-401, SW-402, SW-501, SW-502, SW-505, SW-507, SW-511, SW-512
    • How to address cast-in place lifting bracket and cables.

    Committee members can suggest new products to be proposed for SUDAS manual inclusion; suggestions for potential research projects can also be made at this time.
